Smart Nutrition is my term for learning what your body needs and providing it.

  • Smart Nutrition is caring what you put into your body and not trusting an “All in One” multi-vitamin to supply your nutritional essentials.
  • Smart Nutrition is knowing that even the best quality food may not provide the correct amount of nutrition necessary to maintain good health and prevent disease.42-16857085

I realize that the majority of the population today does not even take a multi-vitamin on a regular basis, and hopes that eating a smattering of fruits and vegetables, in a good week, constitutes a healthy diet.

I run into the same problems as everyone else, and find it difficult to continually have on hand the proper foods that make up great nutrition; which is why I turn to supplementation.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to find foods that contain the proper nutritional building blocks, in the way of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, in order to fulfill our nutritional requirements.

It is now impossible to be nutritionally complete without supplementation.  If you try to get the nutrients your body needs using food, you will fail.

berriesBut, what will you do?  Will you visit Walmart and buy the giant container of All-in One vitamin and mineral supplements for $4.99?

Use Smart Nutrition:

When you hear that you should get more calcium in your diet to prevent osteoporosis, using smart nutrition means looking into what type of calcium will be absorbed and utilized in the body, or its bioavailability. An example of this type of health awareness is knowing that Tums, the antacid, is not an acceptable form of calcium for good health.

Just spending a few minutes each day connecting with some form of health updates and news can keep you in the know.  For example, new findings suggest proper Vitamin D levels can protect against the flu virus.

Using Smart Nutrition is  a simple fix.  You just need to be aware.  You can achieve that objective here, on this site.
